Yesteryear Collection

An open stretch of highway is a beautiful thing, reflecting the freedom of the open road. But when winter winds blow snow across that open stretch, it can become a driver's nightmare: piling up drifts that make travel dangerous, slow and sometimes impossible. In the '50s, during the worst road conditions, the Sinclair Snow Plow came to the rescue. Like the famous "Dino" dinosaur logo on its side, the Sinclair was powerful and sure footed. Its back wheels were wrapped in heavy chains for traction, and the wide snow plow mounted on the front end pushed aside even the largest drifts. This vehicle was prepared with everything necessary to get the driver back on the road: shovels for digging, sandbags for extra weight and traction, extra fuel, a wooden plank for maneuvering out of packed snow or ice and an all-purpose tarp. Just imagine the relief a motorist felt when he saw the yellow light atop the Sinclair Snow Plow flashing through the swirling snow and biting wind - assuring relief and quick service. And now the Sinclair Snow Plow 1954 Ford F100 is part of The Fabulous Fifties Road Service Collection. It has been crafted in die-cast metal by Matchbox Collectibles - "the Greatest Name in Die-Cast."

The Sinclair Refining Company
The famous "Dino" dinosaur in the Sinclair logo was well known to motorists by the mid-1900s. Sinclair advertised that its product put "dinosaur" power in your tank and that its gasoline had been "mellowed 100 million years." Its free road maps were often enhanced with exquisite illustrations of dinosaurs in pre-historic times, and there was even a dinosaur game offered to children.
For much of the 20th century, Sinclair was an essential part of Americas ever-growing love affair with the automobile.
